Really inexcusable, especially for an elected official. Thats the message Republican Assembly member billa say lee hopes to sent to fellow lawmakers with his proposal. Hr 51 should go into effect. Any member of the assembly who is arrested and charged with dui will lose the privilege to operate whats known as a pool vehicle. A government perk provided to lawmakers to help them easily get from place to place in sacramento. Most people dont even know we get a taxpayer. Funded car. Its a state vehicle. The state pays the tax. The state pays the gas for the car. They take care of it. And i think thats a privilege. And so when you violate that privilege and you violate the trust of the public. You shouldnt be driving your car. So its a very simple measure. The rule would apply to lawmakers until their cases result. But if a member is found guilty of deal, why hr 51 would prohibit that lawmaker from driving the pool called for a minimum of 3 it comes just months after state senator dave min was arrested for dui last week. He was sentenced to 3 years, informal probation. And while he did not comment after that sentencing during the night of the arrest back in may, men stated, quote, i accept full responsibility and there is no excuse for my actions. The proposal would apply to all Assembly Members on both sides of the aisle and to those convicted of deal, why wouldnt they were still candidates last month . Clarissa serve on herself. A Riverside City Council member and current candidate for assembly pled guilty to her second misdemeanor deal. Why in the last 8 years her attorney did not respond for comment. The number of elected officials. And candidates for office who are im being arrested for dui across the state and its highly irresponsible. I think what when you run for elected office are held to a higher standard in this state where 4 people die in dui related crashes every day. Mothers against drunk driving or madd fully supports the proposal driving while impaired by alcohol. But is a choice and we must hold accountable. Every person who makes that choice. We know that nevada is trying to get all their ducks in a row and build a baseball stadium for the as. At the site of the tropicana. But its not a done deal yet. So far that meeting has not been scheduled. Lbc va executive director steve hill says that for our end of the deal, a lot of details still have to be hammered out. We have to go through the Stadium Authority process where we started Development Agreement to lease not relocation agreement to legislation gives the Stadium Authority 12 months and then we have ability to extend for 6 months to get this deal done about 60 document had to be signed for allegiant stadium. And hill says he expects a similar number for a baseball stadium. One of the biggest will be the community Development Agreement committing the players to events like youth clinics, a committee of 7 people will oversee that theyll get appointed by the governor, Senate Majority leader, speaker of the assembly, clark county and the Stadium Authority. And if all those steps dont get done in time, all of these steps have to happen. If they than this move doesnt happen. But does las vegas need the as would say more than that. We need the stadium. We need the venue. We know the lbc va that there events that were turning around that are not Major League Baseball. That need a venue to playing in that stadium is going to be a Perfect Place for those events. Hill says he expects everything to go smoothly and baseball to be on the strip in 2028.
