We have report of commuters fleeing the area, running away from the train, when it was stopped by police. So there was a stampede supposedly when the station was evacuated. So many people were injured in that stampede. Also there are report of people on the track at the time, as well. So currently at the moment we still are hearing that part of the network are operational. But the area where this happened, has closed down. The northwest corner of Chester County. A Winter Weather advisory has been canceled across most region. Its still in effect in the poconos until 7 oclock and a warning out west because of that freezing rain. But even in areas where you dont have an active advisory all that means is that the precipitation is over. You still have ice thats trying melt as we get those temperatures to rise and work on that ice that did form overnight. Were all the way up to 51 degrees in philadelphia. Of course there are other spots like wilmington that are much closer to freezing. Same story in allentown. Still below freezing in reading. Certainly the more you move up through these cooler areas the good chance you have of some of that ice still lingering but even in philadelphia and parts of south jersey we have seen the icy sidewalks and still waiting for them to break up with that temperature rising. We have had the advisory lifted south of the poconos out to the west of reading. Theres some slight concerns with freezing rain this morning. However, even though theres no active advisory in through here we got to warn you that it wasnt that long ago that temperatures were down below freezing. We still have lingering ice especially on sidewalks, side streets from the i95 corridor up to the north. I even had a little bit of slipping and sliding on portions of route one on the way in to work a little earlier this morning. Temperatures are rising. Things are going get better but we still have to be careful out there. Even in allentown we just now tipped up above the freezing mark and reading youre still below it so i cant stress enough how in and around the i95 corridor and up to the northern and western suburbs maybe even parts of south jersey you could have some iciness out there.
