Are in the spring mode. It is too early to be in spring mode. It may change next weekend we go back to winter. Reporter march is a critical month for moisture in colorado. Despite a little rain monday, march seems to be followed where in february, staying warm and dry. If history repeats itself the weather pattern could be concerning. Last year we tried out a little bit in february march and then it turned on like a faucet and we were flooding and floating away in april and early may. This has a feel similar to 2012, were february dried out, march dried out, and we stayed dry through the summer and ended up burning up with massive wildfires. Reporter good news is the snowpack statewide is at 99 thanks to a wet fall in long range projections show above normal level moisture. It is a matter of when. We are seven days into march and have yet to get significant snow up there. Time is ticking. Know it we will be moving into april. Is it going to materialize . That is the magic question. Rep
Elway. He says peyton can walk away knowing he accomplished Everything Possible at the quarterback position. Peyton manning utilized every asset that god gave him to be the best Football Player that he could be and that is to me what sets them apart from anyone else because he got every ounce of ability he has. And thats what made him great. When i look back on my nfl career, i will know without a doubt that i gave everything i had to help my teams walk away with a win. There were other players who are more talented but there was no one who could help prepare me. And because of that, i have no `regrets. And that is why Peyton Manning is leaving the game of football on top. We learned that his nnme will be added to the ring of fame and the number 188will be retired in honor of the teams allowed manning to wear it on one condition he bring a super bowl championship back to denver. Mission accomplished. Eric . i like the orange tie. Wherever peytonnis up fence pole. The grouppdid not let
They have a sense of belonging. This is not a longterm solution, but sweeping people into the shadows out of sight and out of mind does nothing to work for Real Solutions for our community. Reporter the city has said this is unclean, inhumane, its on a public sidewalk. Really not against the people there, but the camps there specifically and the main argument. City, to play devils advocate, there are enough shelter beds. Your counter to that. There just arent. They can say theres enough beds but the numbers show there are about twice as many people as there are bedsswho are living on the street. So there are so many needs. The needs are deep from Mental Health care to real housing and community. And those needs arent met. In my work as a pastor, when i work with people, it takes months to get into a caseworker, months on the list we are not doing enough as a community. And we need to be asking questions why this is the state of affairs and sweeping people off the streets, where are the
Well have an update at denver 7 and on thedenverchannel. Com. Snow is on the way, but so are warmer temperatures. Depends on where you are. There is a chance we might get a few showers across the plains later tonight. Better chance in the mountains. A few could roll east. Now all is quiet. A few clouds. A little unsettled still, after live look just east of dia, weve got beautiful clouds. Should be in the mid to upper 40s by noon. Slight chance we might see a shower or two after sunset and potentially for that late commute tonight temperatures will top out in the low to mid 50s today. Calling for a high of 52 here in denver. 50 in greeley. More snow for the mountain us. Really light. Not expecting alerts, but could see a couple of inches. Thank you, lisa. We brought you early this morning. A stabbing in aurora sending one person to the hospital. It happened at a house on east walsh drive. The victim was taken to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. And our crews saw one person h
Tarps and tents the city wants to clean up from areas here near the Denver Rescue Mission, park and lawrence. The city has always said there are enough shelter beds for those people that they dont need to camp out on the streets and that this is an unclean and unsafe and unsanitary situation here downtown. However, Homeless People say they dont have anywhere else to go. We spoke to someone from the Denver Rescue Mission as well as a homele woman yesterday to get their thoughts. We have no other place to go. Homeless is homeless. How would you feel if someone came to your home and said you cant live there anymore . Doesnt matter what you have, were going to turf you out. We understand its definitely not a fun thing to take peoples items and i know the city had to make a big decision about that. Easy situation no matter what. Reporter the city is citing the urban camping ban, why theyre going to clear out the large scale items. Not the people themselves, just the tents, tarps, put it in
