Fred the Butcher, a meat-centric destination in in Mechanicville and then Halfmoon since 1979, is in the final weeks of preparing to open its second location, in the former Falvo’s Meat Market, 20 miles south in New Scotland. A representative tells me an opening on Friday, March 5, is projected. Hours are expected to be 10 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m. weekdays, slightly shorter on weekends.
The sale of the new property, at 386 Maple Road, was finalized in early October, and an extensive renovation, inside and out, was undertaken.
