Well, good evening once again from our nbc news headquarters here in new york. At the end of another week, day 1,093 of the Trump Administration, which means we are now 293 days away from the 2020 president ial election. Tonight we are just over 72 hours away from the opening arguments in the Senate Impeachment trial, and another new trove of evidence has been released by House Democrats courtesy of lev parnas, the indicted Rudy Giuliani associate who spoke to Rachel Maddow for a twopart interview here this week. Before we bring in our first guests to talk about this day, once again tonight we have asked our own National Political reporter, Josh Lederman, to dive into this new lev parnas evidence and tell us what the headlines are from tonight. And, josh, i heard you a little bit earlier on this network. It seems like its yet another mountain of material to go through. A lot of new documents that weve been digging through in the last couple hours since this unexpectedly was posted onto
We will be joined by by our guest chris murphy to discuss. And now, folks are feeling the burn, and Bernie Sanders has been taking another leap to the nevada caucuses last night. The votes are coming in, but right now, the vermonts senators victory is not only impressive numerically, but graphically and one that he promises to replicate throughout the United States. In nevada, we have just put together a multi generational and multi Racial Coalition which is going to not only win in nevada, it is going to sweep this country. Former Vice President joe biden appears to be in second place in nevada, and he is living to fight another day and looking to South Carolina voters to revive his campaign, but with the momentum and half a dozen candidates splitting the sanders votes he could be on track to win a prohibitive number of delegates in the next two weeks and the possibility that south bend, indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg warned the voters in stark words. Before we nominate senator sanders
We begin with Mark Meredith. A big day for vermont senator Bernie Sanders with fox projecting that he will win the nevada caucuses. So much buildup to this event because of what happened two weeks ago with the Iowa Caucuses and whether or not we would see anything different in terms of logistics for the state or how the contest was going to be handled. Of course Bernie Sanders campaign putting a lot of resources here into nevada. We are still awaiting official word from the state Democratic Party who is actually running the caucus. In New Hampshire primaries is with the state government. This is the individual parties handling things. Where we are, the results will be trickling in as they try to line up all three different sets of data. They will have what they call the first linement from the alignment from the caucus, which means the first time they polled the people in the rooms, getting an idea of who is the viable candida candidate and who wasnt. Then essentially the delegates and
Campaigning before tomorrows caucuses. All eyes on nevada tomorrow both for the ultimate results to see if the polling frontrunner Bernie Sanders can make it three in a row or maybe 2 1 2 in a row after he shared first place with Pete Buttigieg in iowa. But beyond just the top line result, in addition the whole country is going to be watching to see what the turnout is in nevada because that is a key measure of democratic enthusiasm. Turnout was sort of meh in iowa. It was pretty good in New Hampshire. Heading into nevada, the early vote turnout in nevada, those numbers were really, really good. Well see if that ends up getting matched by big turnout tomorrow as well on caucus day. The caucuses themselves begin at 10 00 a. M. Local time in nevada. And in addition to all of those things, because the Iowa Caucuses were such a logistical pig pile this year, such a mess, this is the first caucuses since then, and were going to be watching to see how well the Nevada Democratic party does in
