We begin with Mark Meredith. A big day for vermont senator Bernie Sanders with fox projecting that he will win the nevada caucuses. So much buildup to this event because of what happened two weeks ago with the Iowa Caucuses and whether or not we would see anything different in terms of logistics for the state or how the contest was going to be handled. Of course Bernie Sanders campaign putting a lot of resources here into nevada. We are still awaiting official word from the state Democratic Party who is actually running the caucus. In New Hampshire primaries is with the state government. This is the individual parties handling things. Where we are, the results will be trickling in as they try to line up all three different sets of data. They will have what they call the first linement from the alignment from the caucus, which means the first time they polled the people in the rooms, getting an idea of who is the viable candida candidate and who wasnt. Then essentially the delegates and the National Convention happening later on this summer. A lot of pressure on nevada ahead of this caucus because of what we saw in iowa where there was confusion about the results, how things were being tabulated. They originally planned here, the state party originally planned to use the same app developing company that iowa used a few weeks ago. After what happened in the hawkeye state, they decided to scrap that. They gave state party purchased i pads to these different precinct captains to use essentially as a calculator to put the results together and they were calling the results in to the National Party here in im sorry, the state party here in las vegas. The National Party though they had been out there as well, jon, trying to make sure they have the resources that nevada needs out here, that they will be prepared. We had a chance to catch up with the chairman of the Democratic National committee tom perez earlier today. We asked about the caucus system, whether or not in the wake of what we saw in iowa whether or not things need to change. Heres what he had to say. I will certainly work hard to make sure we have a conversation, as the dnc, about the continuing role of caucuses. We cant wave a magic wand and require states to become a primary state because you have to pass a state law. There have been some questions too about whether or not there were enough volunteers at the different caucus sites all around nevada. The Democratic Committee here on the ground have been pushing back saying they have had plenty of volunteers, but we have heard from some of the campaigns saying they didnt feel that was the case. I had a chance to speak to somebody within the party close by, and they said that they were expecting some from some of the campaigns but they believe things are running smoothly. Time will tell as the results trickle in. The big news, Bernie Sanders projected to win the nevada caucus. Jon you have about 55 of the caucus voters does that 55 for Bernie Sanders automatically translate to 55 of delegates at the National Convention . The numbers will continue to shift as the results come in. As the convention as a whole, as they get closer to that, so many different steps in the process before they get up to milwaukee. It will be interesting to see if the numbers change as the results trickle in. There are different precincts out there. All those numbers can shift when you get a lot of data that comes in. That delegate count, thats the number we will look at very closely later on tonight. Jon . Jon Mark Meredith making some sense out of this. Thanks, mark. Bernie sanders is now looking to build on this new momentum as he moves on to texas where early voting is underway now. Casey stegall is live in el paso where sanders just wrapped up a Campaign Rally. Casey . Good to see you. Texas may be ruby red but theres certain voter data that suggests parts of it are turning blue or at least purple, to say the least. And that is specifically around some of the suburban areas, and that is really changing the game for a lot of the democratic president ial hopefuls who have always come through texas, but primarily to fund raise. Now theyre not only picking up money, but theyre also really trying to energize the democratic voters in this sea of ruby red. Now, sanders is by chance doing other rallies as well, not just here in el paso, but hes also holding one tonight over in san antonio and then tomorrow he will be heading to houston and to austin. Hes hoping to ride of course the momentum and hoping that that translates into picking up large amounts of delegates come super tuesday. 228 delegates from texas alone, by the way. They are trying to divide us up, black, white, latino, native american, asian american, gay and straight, they want to divide us up, and when we get divided up, we are weak and powerless. When we stand together, when we come together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish. Now, about half of registered voters here in the state of texas do vote early, and there are five days left in that period. It opened this past tuesday, so folks have already been going to the polls here in texas, for the last four days. And its very very interesting and changes the game a lot, analysts tell us, when roughly 50 of the ballots will have already been cast here in texas, before the very first polls even open on super tuesday, jon. So this early voting is really changing the game. We know that it has in nevada, as you just heard for the first time in history. Its happening there. But early voting, we understand, really changes the way these candidates have to stay ahead and try to be always looking ahead at whats next to grab the delegates. Back to you. Jon casey stegall, thank you, from texas. Elizabeth warren is also on the move holding a Campaign Event in seattle and thats where fox news Senior Correspondent Claudia Cowan is right now. Claudia . Hi, jon, well, Elizabeth Warren did some lastminute stumping at a caucus site in las vegas the morning, but now she is heading here to seattle to build momentum, energize her base and raise more money. Now, in the 24 hours after her aggressive performance in wednesday nights debate, warren raised some 5 Million Dollars. Still her campaign is struggling following her disappointing finishes in iowa, New Hampshire, and now it would appear according to early returns, she has lost to Bernie Sanders in nevada. Still, shes looking ahead to the nominating contest here in washington, where they have moved up the primary to march 10th and where 89 delegates are up for grabs. Bernie sanders was here last monday, drawing 17,000 people to a rally at the tacoma dome. Pete buttigieg also raising funds here this week. And now Elizabeth Warren, returning to seattle, the site of one of her biggest Campaign Events this summer when 15,000 supporters turned out. At tonights rally, look for warren to continue her attack on Michael Bloomberg. She says the fact that he has released three women from nondisclosure agreements at his company does not show full transparency. She says he needs to do a lot more. Elizabeth warren coming to seattle here at a critical time. Ballots for the march 10th primary have already been mailed out. Jon, democratic voters are deciding who they are going to vote for, and this rally here at the armory at the Seattle Center set to begin in about three hours. Back to you. Jon Claudia Cowan from seattle, thank you. Meantime, former Vice President joe biden is staying in nevada. Right now hes holding a caucus day event at a union site. Jacqui heinrich is there for us. Hey, jon. Former Vice President joe biden really needs a good showing of support from Union Workers to set him apart from senator Bernie Sanders. You know, biden talks about how americas middle class was really built by the union who stood up for workers rights. He sometimes also refers to himself as middle class joe. So if he can pull in that support, it could give him an edge over sanders, whose medicare for all policy was widely criticized by Union Workers here in this state. Thats because the Culinary Union arguably the biggest Political Force in nevada fought for very good healthcare benefits. They dont want to lose if private Health Insurance goes away under a sanders administration. The Culinary Union is more than 50 latino, and latinos make up a third of the states population. Biden has been hoping for better results here in nevada with a diverse electorate than he saw in iowa and New Hampshire. The Culinary Union did not endorse a candidate this year, but they backed obama in 2008. Biden can talk about being obamas vp and obama care allowing private healthcare insurance to continue. Biden took a swipe at sanders electability the democratic socialist saying if hes the nominee, it could hurt democrats down ballot. Got to know who is most likely to beat donald trump, even the few polls that show bernie tied with me or ahead of me show me being the one that is most likely to be able to beat trump. And so look, we have to win, number one. Number two, we have to be able to keep the Democratic House. If sanders does in fact win here in nevada, biden would want to be in that number two position. If he is not, it could hurt him when he goes to South Carolina. Hes been relying on support from black voters there to act as a firewall for his campaign. He needs diverse voters to come out for him in this state. Jon . Jon Jacqui Heinrich, thank you. Just a note, the numbers you see on the bottom of your screen reflect the percentage of nevada delegates pledged for each candidate to the nevada state convention. These are not the raw vote totals. In the meantime, former south bend, indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg is hosting his own watch party in nevada. Alicia acuna joins us from las vegas. Alicia . Hi, jon, we are at the springs preserve in las vegas. This is where the caucus night parties for the Buttigieg Campaign will be held. It is an outdoor venue, and right now its raining, and its forecasted to rain a little bit on and off throughout the night. We are hearing from the Buttigieg Campaign as these results come in. The Deputy Campaign manager really touting their minority support tonight in these results tweeting based on our precinct captain reports and precincts that are greater than 50 people of color we are winning 11 of the delegates. Now of course we are waiting to hear from the mayor himself. This is what he said earlier. My sense is we have to decide who we want our nominee to be and make sure [inaudible]. Buttigieg came into nevada the leader in delegate count. As of right now is not in the top four in terms of results in this state. He knew coming in that the challenge to convince a much more diverse population was very real. His Campaign Like others is in need of cash to keep going at a competitive pace. The next test will be South Carolina, where he faces a similar battle with the minority rich electorate. Jon, while hes scheduled to speak here tonight at the caucus night party, later tonight he is hosting a town hall in aurora, colorado, an all important super tuesday state. Jon . Jon alicia acuna, thank you. Meantime, former new york city mayor Mike Bloomberg is absent in nevada, where he wasnt on the ballot, but hes making his presence felt bombarding that state with a multiMillion Dollars political ad blitz, even though hes not on the ballot. Lets go to peter doocy live in las vegas with more on mr. Bloomberg. Peter . Jon, the Bloomberg Campaign says they can find three examples of nondisclosure agreements that female employees at his company signed as part of settlements, after they complained about their boss, Michael Bloomberg. Now he says this if any of them want to be released from their nda so they can talk about the allegations they should contact the company and they can be released. Bloombergs campaign insists he decided to reverse course on these ndas because he reflected on the issue not because he looked bad on the debate stage. This was mikes decision. It had nothing to do with what happened prior to the 48 hours ago. This is something that he decided. He wanted to take the actions to allow the women to break and be free of their nda, to speak out. I mean, he believes that women should be able to, you know, voice their concerns. Just because women bloomberg says complained because they didnt like jokes he told are free to talk about it doesnt mean the democratic rivals are ready to let the issue fizzle out. Thats just not good enough. Michael bloomberg needs to do a blank release so that all women who have been muzzled by nondisclosure agreements can step up and tell their side of the story. The Bloomberg Campaign thinks they notched a win here in nevada, though, even they werent on the ballot because they were on the front page of the Las Vegas Review journal newspaper, with a story about some billboards they bought this week. Jon . Jon peter doocy in las vegas, peter, thank you. I would like to talk about who we are running against, a billionaire who calls women fat broads and horsefaced lesbians. No im not talk about donald trump. Im talking about mayor bloomberg. He thinks he can buy the election. Mike bloomberg owns more wealth than the bottom 125 million americans. Jon it was a tough wednesday night for Michael Bloomberg as the rest of the 2020 democratic field took aim at the former new york city mayor. So did the hopefuls bury the billionaires campaign or will he rebound and become a bigger presence in the president ial race . Lets bring in real clear politics political reporter phillip wegman. Phillip, you could argue that Bernie Sanders big win in las vegas is really a win for Michael Bloomberg, cant you . Certainly because if you talk to the Bloomberg Campaign, what they see happening right now is joe biden is imploding. They do not think that Amy Klobuchar or Pete Buttigieg according to their theory of the case can actually become the establishment frontrunner. Right now this is going well according to their game plan because theres one thing that bloomberg wants to do, he wants a primary fight with Bernie Sanders. He wants to talk about him being the democratic socialist and then that way this is sort of shaping up to be his ideal scenario. The question is, whether or not his billions of dollars can buy more than advertising. Can they actually get people to go to the voting booth . Jon i read where he has already spent in this Election Campaign more than barack obama did to win the white house. We look at 2012 which was the most expensive president ial race ever, and were probably going to eclipse that in 2020 because of all of the individuals in the race. The big question here has to do with Mike Bloomberg, even if he doesnt get the nomination, because before that debate performance, where he was really [inaudible] by his opponents. He promised to back the democratic nominee. What this would mean is he would turn his campaign into sort of a superpac and do at lot air wars with ads like we have seen so far, but, you know, he has been taken to task personally by a lot of the candidates so far. So the question is is he going to honor that commitment . Because we already know the republicans and the rnc, they are making cash hand over fist. Jon you wrote an article about it in real clear politics. I want to point that out for our viewers. Your quote is that new figures show the republican National Committee raised 27. 2 Million Dollars last month bringing its total this president ial cycle to 268. 3 million, easily outdistancing democrats 103. 1 million. Money talks in politics. And the republican side has a lot of it right now. It certainly does. You know, that donor money, that means support, and they are hoping that that continues to grow ahead of november. I talked to, you know, former president Barack Obamas chief fundraiser who is now backing joe biden, and what he pointed out is that all of that fundraising and all of that spending has not increased President Trumps Approval Rating above 50 . So if youre a democrat, the case that youre making right now is that its time to unify, instead of fundraising with all of these different camps, you want to rally around a single champi champion, but the question is, will the democratic establishment really rally around, you know, Bernie Sanders who is a democratic socialist and who is someone who only recently has sort of become a democrat . Hes back in washington now watching Bernie Sanders win a blowout in the nevada caucuses. We are live at the white house with more. David . Jon, President Trump taking the campaign trail very seriously. Hes hoping to win next november. Hes at the white house tonight, tomorrow morning he will leave for india to depart to meet the indian prime minister, but as you can see right there, he was in las vegas last night, where he held a rally. Its no coincidence, though, that he spent time in nevada before todays democratic caucus. In that rally, in las vegas, the president took time to bash democrats and tout his own agenda. Now, he tweeted today democrats in the great state of nevada, which because of the economy, jobs, the military, and vets, i will win in nevada, be careful to russia, according to to corrupt politician adam schiff they are pushing for Bernie Sanders to win votes. Congressman schiff of california fired back today mr. President i didnt say that if you wish to quote me is quote this the only thing americans despise more is foreign actors trying to change the vote is the president being unwilling to do anything to stop it. Americans decide American Elections. They say they are going to have a lot of problems tomorrow, i hate to tell you this, i dont know. Have you heard . I hear their computers are all messed up just like they were in iowa. They are not going to be able to count their vote. They are going to tell you about healthcare, our military and the jet fighters and the missiles and rockets, but they cant count votes. President trump poking fun at the iowa caucus and the app that crashed, the problem they had. Obviously that was not a problem in nevada, fox news was first to call the race for Bernie Sanders at the nevada caucus, so clearly the president s scenario did not happen there. Meanwhile, an Administration Official says expect to see President Trump at some of these other states where democrats are having primaries. It was no coincidence he was in iowa before that one, in New Hampshire before the primary there. Expect to see President Trump in many other places i suspect possibly South Carolina and some of those other super tuesday states. Jon . Strategist holly turner. Holly, im guessing at the white house, they are pretty happy to see Bernie Sanders, the democratic socialist winning nevada in a blowout. Yeah, i mean, the president has been looking forward to this for a long time. His record helping americans. Unemployment the lowest its ever been, to have that record up against a democrat socialist in november is a good path to victory for the president. Not just the president but all the candidates down ballot from him. Interestingly enough im in las vegas right now. Im at a nonpolitical event today. The president s Campaign Manager stopped by, and he received an enormous enthusiasm from this crowd. These are nonpolitical marketers, business owners. They were very afraid by whats happening in las vegas right now, with bernie winning this caucus here, and they are looking to President Trump to help them as we move forward into this next four years, and they may not have supported the president , if there were another option on the table, but Bernie Sanders is making that choice very easy for them. Jon perhaps it is not a surprise that the president had his own way of sizing up the democratic field when he appeared last night at that rally. Lets take a listen. Mini mike who i dont think i think hes gone, but you know what . He will spend another 500 million. Pocahontas, and shes mean, isnt she . She made a little comeback the other night because she took mini mike to the cleaners. Bernie is too emotional. Hes screaming, going crazy. Biden is angry. Jon thats the way the president sees the field, but Bernie Sanders again a blowout victory today. We dont know exactly yet how many delegates that will mean for him, but hes certainly on a roll, in the democratic primary. Yeah, absolutely, and i think at this point it is really for the other democrats in that race, it is going to be a challenge for them to keep him from getting the majority. Their last hope, it looks like now is just to keep him to plurality of those delegates so that perhaps they can have a contested convention when they go to milwaukee, but at this point, it looks like bernie is definitely going to come out of super tuesday if the polls are on track with the plurality of those delegates, and he may just get a majority, and then it is going to be bernie going headtohead with the president , and i think americans are its going to be a very easy choice for them. They are not ready to embrace the kind of radical ideas that Bernie Sanders is selling. Jon there are some problems in the Democratic Party right now. Obviously they are having trouble winnowing the candidate field down to their nominee. Although, thats to be expected at this point in the process. They are also not raising money like the republican side is. And then on the republican side, theres this, in an article on foxnews. Com yesterday, a Record Number of candidates have filed to run for office in the house and senate, but unlike the 2018 midterms, when the surge was driven by democrats, the congressional boom this time is on the republican side, according to the latest federal candidate and financial activity report obtained exclusively by fox news. Do you agree that there is enthusiasm and excitement among the republican candidates . Yeah, absolutely. Look, having Bernie Sanders on the democrat ticket going into november is only going to increase that enthusiasm for the republicans, and its not just going to be President Trump. It is going to be those congressional candidates, senate candidates, all the way down to mayors and lower level elected officials, so were going to see which is really important. Were going into a year where were going to be doing redistricting so it is really important for republicans to grab as many of those state senate and statehouse seats as they can. All i can say is that the republicans do need to take advantage of this. When President Trump was first elected in 2016, we went into that First Congress a little [inaudible]. We werent able to get as much done as we wanted to. I hope this time if we regain the house, that those members will be ready to move as quickly as the president does and to finish completing those promises that he promised the American People. This is the fox report. Bottom the hour, if you are just joining us, fox news is projecting Bernie Sanders as the decisive winner in todays nevada caucuses. This as theres more reaction to a Washington Post report that says russia is trying to again interfere in the 2020 elections. This time to help the vermont senator. Sanders telling russian president putin to stay out. Lucas tomlinson is live in washington with more. Lucas . Bernie sanders issued a forceful statement following allegations russia was helping his campaign win the 2020 election. Quote, my message to putin is clear, stay out of American Elections, and as president , i will make sure that you do. In 2016, russia used internet propaganda to sow division in our country, my understanding is they are doing it again in 2020. A former top aide to Hilary Clinton says Bernie Sanders should have spoken up sooner. What surprises me is that bernie has known for a month and decided not to share it. That i find odd and somewhat irresponsible for a couple of reasons. First, this should be a team effort. This should be a bipartisan effort. President trump spoke at a rally in las vegas ahead of the nevada caucuses and attacked the democratic critics. We want to get along with russia. They are sick people. The radical lefts attempts to poison our democracy and overturn the last election have totally ended in a big fat failure. And in a tweet earlier today, President Trump blamed the Democratic House Intel Committee chairman for spreading the report russia wants bernie to win, quote, democrats in the great state of nevada, which because of the economy, jobs, the military, and vets, i will win in november. Be careful of russia, russia. According to schiff, they are pushing for sanders to win. Adam schiff said quote mr. President i didnt say that but if you wish to quote me, quote this, the only thing americans despise more than foreign actors trying to affect a vote is a president unwilling to do anything to stop it. Americans decide American Elections. Jon . Jon thanks very much. For more on this, lets bring in the White House Reporter for reuters. So, here we go again, potentially, jeff, and another election president ial election that could be marred by accounts of russian meddling. I thought that the fbi, the cia, all the agencies were on board and ready to put a stop to this. Well, im sure you are right. They want to put a stop to it, but its certainly not inconsistent with what they have been warning for some time which is that russia intervened in the 2016 election and would try to do it again in 2020 and in fact has been working on that for months. So its not a surprise. It is interesting that they have you know, that the intelligence is showing that Vladimir Putin essentially has a favorite on both sides. President trump as the incumbent president on the republican side and Bernie Sanders for the nomination to become the democratic nominee. But its really not inconsistent at all with what the intelligence agencies have been saying for some time. Jon yeah. Perhaps no surprise President Trump sees Bernie Sanders as the bigger beneficiary of Russian Election meddling efforts. Heres what he said last night in las vegas. Its disinformation. Thats the only thing theyre good at. They are not good at anything else. They get nothing done. Do nothing democrats. That putin wants to make sure i get effect will i get elected. Listen to this, doesnt he want to see who the democrats are going to be. Wouldnt he rather have bernie who honeymooned in moscow . Jon the Bernie Sanders honeymooning in moscow thats a point you will hear a lot from the president this Campaign Cycle it sounds like. I imagine you are right about that. The president has never accepted what intelligence agencies have said which is that russia tried to put the thumb on the scale in 2016 in his favor. President trump of course wants people to know and i mean he did win the election obviously in 2016, and he doesnt want any suggestion that that occurred in a way thats not thanks to his campaigning and the hard work he did in 2016 to win that race. But the intelligence agencies have made clear that russia did play a part and is trying to play a part again. Jon lets talk about Michael Bloomberg for a moment. He wasnt on the ballot today, but he was present in nevada. He had a lot of o advertising on the air. Hes betting everything on the super tuesday states, 1,357 delegates at stake, just a handful have been allocated so far. So if bloombergs plan comes to fruition, he could come out of super tuesday ahead of everybody else. He certainly could. And thats where hes putting his money is on a gamble that thats exactly whats going to happen. He will face a formidable frontrunner in Bernie Sanders who did very well in iowa and New Hampshire and looks like hes going to do extremely well today in nevada, but its certainly true that super tuesday has a bunch more states than just the three that will have voted or caucused so far, and hes investing a lot of money. I mean, everywhere i go, i see bloomberg commercials, so i think thats probably true for a lot of people in the country, and hes banking on that to have an impact. Now, other things play a role there, the former mayor did not have a particularly strong debate in his first outing with fellow democratic opponents, so we will see if that affects the polling as well. Jon also interesting that joe biden started as the national frontrunner and right now in fifth place in the delegate count among the democrats.
