She was one of the Space Programs Hidden Figures. Ms. Johnson was an engineer at Nasas Marshall Space Flight Center in huntsville, alabama, working for boeing, the sponsor for tonights event. She worked on the team that determined the path, the parts of the thsaturn 5, would take, the rocket fell back to earth. Their work was vital for safety planning. One unique individual came to our attention as the film was being researched. Turns out there was only one woman allowed in the control room during the launch. Her remarkable story has been mostly hidden all these years. She played a critical role, and as we learned, spending time with her, she remembers it well. Heres her story. Many of the candidates here today, Bernie Sanders being one of them, and one thing that Bernie Sanders often speaks about when hes out on the campaign trail is trying to solve economic and inequalities. Here at the South Carolina Democratic Party convention he made that argument about economic inequality, and also tied it to racial inequality when it comes to income and other economic issues. Youll remember South Carolina, the black vote is very important in this state. Last time in 2016 black voters made up 61 of the economic primary electorate.
