The Supreme Court recently deleted certain adverse remarks made by the Gauhati High Court against a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court judge in a judgment relating to Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
A judicial officer posted at one of the special courts in Assam has moved Supreme Court seeking deletion of certain remarks against him in a Gauhati High Court judgment which had overturned the judgment authored by him.
The High Court stated that the impugned judgment dated May 22,2017 passed by the Special Judge, NIA in Special NIA case does not stand to scrutiny and is hereby quashed and set aside. The court stated, " we have already concluded that this document also does not provide any insight into the alleged terrorist activities of DHD(J)."
