Rail station at san carlos street and alma den boulevard when investigators say a man took off. These are shots of police cars responding to the scene. Authorities say the suspects shot at officers who then returned fire. Officials tell us the suspect then carjacked a vehicle, of investigators say they tried to to run over an officer. It ended in branham lane when the spec crashed into another car where he was captured. Two people inside the car were taken to the hospital but are expected to survive. The suspect was also taken to the hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries and will be charged with attempted homicide on an officer. Authorities say the suspects injuries were not caused by gunfire. Developing news in the south bay, san jose firefighters are at the scene of a three an alarm fire in the vista point area. Its going to be a matter of following the fire around in kind of a curve and trying to stay ahead of it. Reporter white ash falls from the sky like snow. Those white specks are a remainder for neighbors that the fire is reminder for neighbors that the fire is moving closer to town. Its moving and rolling in like fog, the smoke and ash. The governor declared a state of emergency and called in the national guard. It is one of 18 firefighters burning across the state tonight. Andria borba says there is a new problem tonight. Reporter yep, that problem is both the wind and the spread of this fire. It is a massive fire. 18,000 acres. About two miles east of lower lake out here on Morgan Valley road where this fire is burning. It is very rural up here.
