Weekend, carla was among the first to hit the sand on ship bottoms newly widened beach. Out here early to beat the crowd. Our beach is very big. I think we have a lot of space this year. Reporter after a rainy thursday sunshine and a long line of slowmoving traffic greeted those making their way to Long Beach Island this morning. At the sand box cafe the wait for a table was at least 45 minutes. We think today is the busiest day weve seen so far this summer. Going great. We were gearing up for it with the rain yesterday. We prayed for sunshine and someone heard our prayers. Reporter in Sea Isle City waves of people have been hitting the surf. The sand packed too. First time right . Reporter although this 11 week old spent most of his day under cover. Stay under that tent. He will be 100 uv protected. Shirt, hat, all of it. They cant wear sunscreen until six months.
