In a nonfiction book, this is the place to be. We have four really different books, but theyre all really amazing. We have two finalists for the l. A. Times book prize and i want to point this one out to you now and this one out to you now here. Thats why i like to bring the books, so you can actually see them. We also have two finalists for the penn literary awards one in biography here, jeff hobbs book with, and one in science writing, joshua horowitzs book. And i think its worth noting that this book here is actually on two of those lists, and hes our youngest participant. This is not his first book but its his first book as far as i know of nonfiction, so its quite an achievement. He was the groomsmen and my wedding and this was a terrible, painful mystery and i needed to know. And once i began to realize the broader issues that his story encapsulates, the fact that his wife could mean some pain much bigger and the love people had for him, i just felt like i had to write this book. I didnt owe him anything, that these were issues he talked about during his life extensively. And if a college aged kids could admit his life in a slightly different direction because of the way robs life admitted a downward direction, that seemed valuable.
