New Delhi [India], July 29 (ANI/SRV): Symbiosis Law School, Pune's visit to the organising body of the 2nd Study Visit for the Curricula Development in Climate Change Policy and Law- the University of Girona, Spain occurred between the 30th of May and the 4th of June. This event was a deliverable under the CCP Law Project which is an Erasmus+ CBHE Project of the European Union. As a mandate of this project, the partners were required to participate in a scientific meeting to discuss the specificities of the progress of the work completed till date, preparation of the Asian Report and to conduct an overview of the Transnational Report which is to be submitted as an outcome. In adherence with the project mandate under WP 1.3, SIU conducted extensive desk research regarding similar curricula in Asia, a focused group discussion with stakeholders from industry, academia, students, law and representatives from the judiciary. Understanding the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the key to rebuilding China-US political mutual confidence, because some Americans’ wrong notions about China are related to their misunderstanding of the CPC. Party leadership, as inscribed in China’s Constitution, is the fundamental characteristic and biggest systemic advantage of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Only when the US understands and respects this will it stop finding fault with China on the latter’s domestic affairs.
Three misgivings to be cleared
In particular, the US side needs to overcome three important misgivings. To begin with, the US sees China as an ‘alien’ country. Some people lament the failure of the US policy, begun under former president Richard Nixon, of engaging with China. After having turned Japan into a Western-style country, the Americans wanted to do the same with China, ignoring the
