Think of themselves in the world, in a very different way. If you want to understand the 20th century, if you want to understand the role that the United States plays, the 1890s is the place to start because the transformation that you see among the people and their attitudes in the 1890s is little short of amazing. Remember this. Remember that as far back as you want to go in American History, the idea has been that the United States and before that, the american colonies we are over here and the rest of the world is the rest of the world. There is this purposeful sense that we are us, and the rest of the world can do whatever it wants. Whatever it is going to do, it is not going to affect us. I am dancing around the word isolation because that has a lot of baggage around it. But that is part of it. We were an isolated country. Or it is not isolated, if you dont want to use isolation. We can pick and choose however much involvement we wanted, and we usually did not want any involvemen

Once but twice to get wiped out in San Francisco. The first time was getting off the train at fourth and king and trying to go across the platform. The traffic stopped, so i started walking, and the bike didnt stop and went threw the e red light at 100 Miles Per Hour. Maria remembers it because she wrote it down and the situation was written down. Next time i got nearly wiped out was right here in front effort steps entering city hall. I waited for my time to cross and as i went across, a bike blasted straight through at 30 Miles Per Hour and i never saw it coming because the bike lane was masked by a van. So none of these cases, i thin think actually, a policeman saw it and said there was nothing he do about it because bikes do not have registrations and my suggestion to you, and i know it would be heavy in San Francisco, is to consider mandate rate, a recommendation for bikes with our f i. D. Didnt that way you can enforce it. Let me wrap up. The ultimate path to vision zero is the w
The subset that is considered seriously to be civilianization but havent gotten there yet . Okay. We did have, actually pulled up a report from the Controllers Office from earlier this year and about 54 positions that had been identified previously as civilianization positions, all of them have been filled save for two which were no longer applicable, meaning the position no longer existed in the format it was at the time, and then the 25 positions from that we got budgeted, and 25 positions in 19 20, so commander ford can speak to the status of those. Welcome, commander. Good morning. Good to see you all. All right. Pertaining to fiscal year 1819, 25 positions budgeted for 1819. Of those, 13 have been filled to date. Another six or being created through the official classification process with a minimum qualifications are currently being built out.
