Carinity has welcomed the first resident into its new $32-million aged care community in Highfields.
Clare Bothmann, a 98-year-old former dairy farmer, is the first person to move into The Residences at Brownesholme. The aged care community’s inaugural Residential Manager, Jane Mackney, welcomed Clare and her visiting family and shared a special morning tea to celebrate the historic occasion.

Peter Davies took this picture of the newsagent in 1980, while he was living across the road from the shop. He shared it in our We Grew Up In Hereford Facebook group, before some of the 9,000 members started to share their memories of the shop. Maryse Ozguc said Gary Rawlings used to be the manager at Forbuoys, and Jane Mackney said she used to work there.
