BAY CITY, MI A Mount Pleasant man accused of killing his father in their shared home has been federally charged with murder.
Jacob A. Osawabine, 30, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 54-year-old father, James G. Osawabine Sr. The charge is punishable by up to life in prison.

A man Mt. Pleasant man has been charged with the shooting death of his father.
Jacob Osawabine is accused of shooting and killing his father, James Osawabine, Wednesday at their home on Bellevue Drive on the Isabella Reservation.
According to federal court documents, Jacob Osawabine told tribal police that his father had gone to the store. Shortly after, Jacob Osawabine heard their front door open and fired a gun toward the door. He then realized that he had shot his father.
Osawabine is charged with second-degree murder.
