COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,461 new cases of Covid-19 today and eight deaths.
The number of patients discharged (4,782) continued to outpace the
number of new patients for the sixth straight day, leading to 2,329 fewer active
cases.
Active cases: 34,468
The increase was due to cases linked to existing clusters (196).
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted that the spike was because inmates from the Dungun Correctional Centre in Terengganu - which had just had an enhanced movement control order lifted - were transfered to the Pengkalan Chepa prison in Kelantan.
