PUTRAJAYA: Seven new Covid-19 clusters were detected on Monday (March 1), one of which involved an aged care home in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that five clusters were linked to workplace infections, while one was a community transmission and another cluster was found among a high-risk group. The Jalan Cempedak cluster involved the Kepong district and was detected at an aged care home in Jalan Cempedak, Sentul. To date, 30 individuals had been screened and 10 cases were found positive. The Bukit Marak cluster was linked to community transmission and involved the Kota Baru and Bachok districts in Kelantan.

In a statement, Noor Hisham said five were related to the workplace, and one each linked to the community and high-risk group. Three clusters were detected in Johor, two in Selangor and one each in Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan. ADVERTISEMENT Clusters that recorded the highest spike in cases today are the Jalan Kempas Tiga (334), Industri Sungai Gadut (128) and Tembok Tapah (80). The seven new clusters are: Selangor - Desa Empat – a workplace cluster in Kuala Selangor. The first few cases tested positive on Feb 24 after a targeted screening of employees at a supermarket in Desa Coalfields, Sungai Buloh. A total of 28 people have been screened with 18 found positive.
