Instead of Suvali beach festival, people end up in traffic jams. Hundreds of citizens had to return home disappointed without attending the beach festival at the Suvali after being stuck in traffic for hours on Sunday. The traffic jam was about 7km long on the road leading to the beach. The Surat district administration had organized a two-day Suvali Beach Festival from Saturday which was packed with activities.
Cops on Thursday started traffic trials at Chingrighata ahead of handing over the site to facilitate construction of another Metro pillar next to the crossing.

NOIDA: Senior officials of the Noida Authority have assured of solving the prevailing drain problem in Sector 21. Apart from covering drains with bamboo net, officials will also prepare a roster for regular cleaning.
They will also and examine why the discharge of water from the drains has slowed down. This move could resolve issues of hundreds of families staying in Jal Vayu Vihar.
Senior project engineer of public health department S C Mishra said a thorough survey is required to ascertain the exact cause of the problem before a permanent solution is found. Due to the presence of a 20-feet-wide drain in the vicinity, people staying in Sector 21 and Jal Vayu Vihar are forced to suffer from air and water pollution. The problem is acute towards gate number 2 of the colony.
