Three Isle of Wight 2021 election candidates were unexpectedly reunited when a Green Party Zoom call for candidates revealed that they had already met – over twenty years ago at school.
Claire Critchison (Chale, Niton and Shorwell) and Jaimie Bundell (Newport West) were pleased to discover that David Moorse (Shanklin Central) – better known as Mr Moorse to an estimated 4,000 Island children through the years – was also standing for election to the Isle of Wight Council on Thursday 6th May.

The Isle of Wight Green Party candidates standing on May 6. The Isle of Wight Green Party has revealed its full list of candidates for the May 6 elections. Existing parish and town councillors Daniel James, Joe Lever, Jaimie Bundell and Cameron Palin are all hoping for a seat at County Hall. The self-dubbed Green Team of 2021 are from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, including a former headteacher and police officer, an ex-nurse and a ex-care home worker. They include a hospitality worker, therapist, town planning consultant, driving instructor and bar owner, as well as a musician, computer game developer, digital designer, classical performer, writer and artist).
