The landing was smooth, but it came after some agonizing hours during which the jet circled the airport. They had problems on 880 where all lanes are now back open after a sinkhole forced lane closures through most of the night. Southbound on 880 near oak street. Caltrans worked through the night with heavy equipment to replace the asphalt. Cars hit the hole as it widened up so the chp had to shut down three lanes between broadway and oakland. Heavy rain was a factor. Liza has been watching a Traffic Alert this morning. We have a problem and a chp advisory for west 580 on the approach to 680. Thats where they are clearing an accident. The left lane is shut down for 30 minutes now. They expect it to be closed until at least 7 20 this morning. Coming in the bay area once again. Storms are beginning to make a dent on the drought. Good evening and thanks for joining us. Lets get right to spencer christian. Dan and ama, conditions are dry, but just north, that storm arrived, producing rain in lower elevations and that is what we can expect. Its on the way to the bay area, starting at 7 00 this evening, later in the evening well see pockets of showers developing. By 4 00 well see a wide expanse of moderate, maybe heavy rain developing in the north bay. By 8 00 tomorrow morning, well see it, by 5 00 in the morning, rather well see it into San Francisco, into parts of the east bay. And down to the south bay, its going to be a fast moving storm producing wet weather here and lots of snow in the seera. A winter storm warning is in effect from 1 00 a. M. Tomorrow to 4 00 a. M. Friday. And 4 to 8 inches above 2500 feet. So that dent in the drought will be a bigger one. And snow pack is already at 112 of average, which is a great start
