Cross Country Announces 2022 Schedule

CLEMSON, S.C.  The Clemson cross country team has announced its 2022 schedule, featuring four competitions prior to ACC Championships hosted this year by the University of Virginia. The season begins on September 2 with the Kennesaw State vs. Clemson Dual Meet held in Kennesaw, Ga. FULL SCHEDULE: Sept. 2: KSU vs. Clemson Dual Meet - Kennesaw, Ga. Sept. 17: Furman Invitational - Greenville, S.C. Oct. 1: Live in Lou - Louisville, Ky. Oct. 14: Crimson Classic - Tuscaloosa, Ala. Oct. 28: ACC Championships - Charlottesville, Va. Nov. 11: South East Regionals - Louisville, Ky. Nov. 19: NCAA Championships - Stillwater, Okla. Head Coach Vicky Pounds enters her fourth year at the helm of the program, and is looking to see improvement from her squad. Clemson's Women Finish Fifth, Men Sixth at 2021 ACC Outdoor Championships – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

RALEIGH, N.C.  The Clemson track and field program concluded competition at the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday evening after seeing its women’s team score 69 points to finish in a tie for fifth, and its men’s team score 65 points to finish in sixth. Saturday’s action saw Clemson capture two ACC titles at 800 meters, garner seven first-team All-ACC honors, and collect 12 second-team All-ACC accolades. Kameron Jones became the best men’s 800m runner in Clemson history after setting a new school record of 1:45.47 en route to winning the event’s final on Saturday. In addition to the new school record, Jones also set a meet record and facility record while becoming the fastest collegiate athlete at the distance this season. The previous meet record stood at 1:46.66 and was held by Virginia’s Paul Ereng following his performance at the 1988 conference championships. Male & Female Student-Athletes Win Historic Title IX Sex Discrimination Settlements with Clemson University

Share this article Share this article OAKLAND, Calif., April 23, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Clemson University, the first school in the country faced with class actions by both its male and female student-athletes for violating Title IX by discriminating against them in different ways, has agreed to landmark settlements avoiding the suits. Clemson will reinstate its men s track & field and cross country teams; add a new women s varsity team; give men and women equal opportunities to participate; provide women with equal athletic financial aid, treatment, and benefits; work with an outside Monitor to develop a Gender Equity Plan; and bring all aspects of its intercollegiate athletics program into compliance with Title IX.
