Opinion: Should Giants owner Charles B. Johnson have to sell his shares after Republican donations?

done with this whole mess.
The principal owner of the San Francisco Giants, an 88-year-old billionaire who lives in Florida, heard enough complaints about his propensity for donating to Republican extremists as was reportedby SFGATE last week that he deigned to make a couple of statements to the rest of us, the plebeians. He first opted for a Friday evening news dump, a time-honored public relations tradition where people who have no intention of reflecting on or apologizing for their actions submit an offensively bland note that roughly translates to: Some of you might be mad at me, but I don t actually care, and anyway you’re probably not going to read this because it’s the weekend.
at a time when the democrats are trying to figure out a way to not only win the primary, but to try to win back the white house? yeah. this is another issue that the parties are using n this case the republican president is using, to paint the other side as a monster. your president, that you work for, would not have done this. bill clinton, barack obama, would not aque people of being anti-israel because they disagreed with the current prime minister s policies. but politically, yeah, this is very effective. dana: even in omar s statement, she said president trump is an islamophobe. she s said that point blank. it is almost like president trump said he s a counter puncher. i think these individuals are counter punchers as well. so then everybody is just punching. you re right. where i live right now, we were raised that two wrongs don t make a right. so being called an islamophobe
you, can you o respond to some thend president s specific clai, most notably that you re a communist and that you re pro al qaeda? you might have noticed how when he said go back to where you came from, there was an uproar through the through all of our communities because every single person who is brown and black at some point in their life in this country heard that. now, when he made the comments, i know that every single muslim who has lived in this country and across the world has heard that comment. and so i will not dignify it with an answer, because i know that every single islamophobe, every single person who is
islamophobe, anti-semitism, racism, why aren t the republican leadership coming out publicly saying this president needs to stand up and say something directly to this? yeah, they absolutely should. what has become clear is that this president is not capable of moral leadership. we re at a time when you see these attacks, what you see is him saying things like very fine people on both sides. and what we really need to see is moral leadership coming from the senate. but unfortunately, every day what we see are more and more is just these republicans falling in line. these attacks on john mccain most recently these tweets are vile. and you don t even see his close friends like lindsey graham stepping up and condemning them. danielle, the fact this president would attack john mccain, who just passed several months ago, and to dig up thisle whole thing on john mccain and
finds a receptive audience in a lot of his base. think of what s happened when you had jeanine pirro saying it was unamerican essentially to wear a hijab or the comments with tucker carlson calling iraqis primitive monkeys. so the fact that donald trump is really an islamophobe is something a lot of his base applauds and he doesn t want to challenge their prejudices. just ahead, breaking news from the fbi on all of this. we want to bring you that. even though president trump doesn t believe white nationalism is on the rise globally, there s plenty of evidence to the contrary. coming up, several cases in point. naysayer said no one would subscribe to a car the way they subscribe to movies. we don t follow the naysayers.
