Covid-19: Mosques and surau in Negri Sembilan to close until June 7

SEREMBAN: All mosques and surau in Negri Sembilan will be closed to the public from Friday (May 21) till June 7 following an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state. State Islamic Affairs Department director Datuk Mohd Zaidi Ramli said only mosque officials and committee members will be allowed to perform prayers during the period but the number will be restricted to 12. “As for the surau, only three people will be allowed to enter to pray and these are the imam, bilal and siak, ” he said in a statement. He said those entering the mosques or surau will have to fill up special forms and adhere to all standard operating procedures.

Covid-19: Negri Sembilan urges non-Muslim places of worship to close voluntarily

SEREMBAN: Non-Muslim places of worship in Negri Sembilan should voluntarily close for the time being due to the spike in Covid-19 cases, says the state government. State non-Muslim affairs, human resources and plantations committee chairman J. Arul Kumar said only committee members should be allowed to perform prayers at these places of worship for now. He noted the state had proposed to the National Security Council for these premises to be closed to the public. While we wait for a reply, the state government hopes the committees would start closing these places voluntarily from May 21, he said in a statement.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Issues Series Of Legislations To Further Raise Efficiency Of Dubai Government Entities #Dubai

(5 May 2021)   In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAEHis Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum issued a series of legislations pertaining to the restructuring of certain Dubai government entities. The legislations aim to further raise the efficiency of government institutions. His Highness issued Law No. (6) of 2021, pertaining to the transfer of the International Institute for Tolerance to the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Department. The transfer will take place withinthree months of the Law’s publication in the official gazette. All responsibilities and duties of the Institute will also be transferred to the Department. The Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai will decide which organisational unit of the Islamic Affairs Department will manage the responsibilities and functions of the Institute.
