SEREMBAN: All mosques and surau in Negri Sembilan will be closed to the public from Friday (May 21) till June 7 following an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state.
State Islamic Affairs Department director Datuk Mohd Zaidi Ramli said only mosque officials and committee members will be allowed to perform prayers during the period but the number will be restricted to 12.
“As for the surau, only three people will be allowed to enter to pray and these are the imam, bilal and siak, ” he said in a statement.
He said those entering the mosques or surau will have to fill up special forms and adhere to all standard operating procedures.
