Simultaneously began to intern at a San Francisco Attorneys Office they can services unit; i learn about criminal system and the legal system in general. I learn about the resources and the city, domestic violence, mental health. Homeless individuals are victimized a lot. Currently i am a shelter advocate; im getting to know about housing, organizing, my strongest point about working there in my mind is that work inside the shelters; i work with the management of every city funded shelter. I have a working relationship with them already. It would be a good idea to be in the committee as well as my current position as a shelter advocate. Limited to owning a small business. What do you believe would represent the interests of low income individuals . One of those things that are important advocate, issues important to the committee . I know that a lot of the Community Impact fees assessed on the developers, there are limits and requirements for these developers with regards to Affordable Housing of these new developments. I would like to see those requirements exceeded if at all possible. With regard to a lot of the residents, and some of the rsos in existence on Market Street, i will like to work to improve some of the infrastructure surrounding them. A lot of people applied, few people showed up. I am willing to stay on my seat if it is necessary for continuity; i do want to speak on behalf of julia, nick and andrew. Nick is my coworker. I think it is very important as he said that the client advocate position be on the committee. We go to the shelters all the time. If the unique perspective. Julia is very dedicated, hardworking. That seat historically has been difficult to fill because of childcare issues; she has that covered, she assured me of that. She would be great. She speaks spanish. Andrew as well. To help out and to be open and understanding. The majority of the latin speakers out there, they come from their countries; they dont know how to read their own language. You are helping them reach their own language. And also interpret for them there are many homeless shelters that are in need of understanding why they are homeless. They understand the situation. When they have been there longer than expected, that is when they need help to understand. You need to understand that connecting them to those agencies does not mean that they will move quickly. It takes time. The latin speaking community, they need to get out there. They need to come in and start helping out an understanding that it is really a great achievement. It is helpful to everyone.
