Police arrested five people and impounded vehicles. But it hasnt slowed side show activity. More is expected this weekend. This morning, caltrans blew up the last two piers of the old bay bridge, finishing the project a year ahead of schedule. Youre watching video of the final implosion that happened 30 minutes ago. Caltrans demolished 11 piers this year. Chp officials closed the bay bridge to traffic as a precaution. You can see traffic is now moving in both directions. There is a slowdown in the cash lanes.
