New Delhi, Feb 13 : The Delhi Police has busted a gang of extortionists, headed by a lawyer, passing themselves of as members of The International Human Rights Commission to extort money from employees of liquor shops in the capital.
The main accused had also employed two armed PSOs and bouncers to look genuine as he extorted money from liquor shop owners on the pretext that they are selling liquor to minors and that their liquor license would be cancelled if they don t pay up.

Phagwara: Lovely Professional University (LPU) will establish Guru Nanak Dev Chair on December 18. Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will virtually attend the event as the chief guest. The day will also witness release ceremony of English version of the book, “Shri Guru Nanak Dev Jee”, which has been authored by the Union Education Minister. Guest of Honour will be Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner of Malta. Punjab Minister of Technical Education and Industrial Training Charanjit Singh Channi will also preside over the virtual event. The ‘Chair’ will be entrusted with conducting research on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.
