Black lives matter movement. The supervisors who coauthored these resolutions, they along with leaders from organizations like the naacp, they just discussed the need for this kind of change. They condemned Racial Injustice during this News Conference thats taking place here outside the county building in san jose. The supervisors believe that the recent George Floyd Protests have opened the communitys eyes to this kind of systemic racism that is clearly still a problem in this country. And that incidentally a disproportionate number of minorities are impacted by covid19. The resolution calls for a number of things. It wants the county to reaffirm its support for minority communities who have been disenfranchised, wants to better educate the public on how to address and dismantle racism, and calls for a review of county ordinances, hiring practices, and workplace policies equity lens. In march just a few blocks away another transgender woman was found shot to death. He murder is still unsolved. The two women knew each other according to Prince Georges County police, but they say its too early to say the two murders are connected. What i can say to you, tracee, is that its unusual like e had two murders this in a couple blocks of each other. What we will say to the community thats out there and look out for each other. Capsized sailboat. Good evening. Im dan ashley. And im ama daetz. We sent out an alert to the abc7 news app as this was happening. We also streamed it live through the app. The sailboat capsized about 2 30 this afternoon. Only sky 7 was overhead as three people were pulled from San Francisco bay. They launched here, and they got about a mile into the bay when the coast guard says their sailboat capsized. I watched as the three men after being treated by paramedics, walked into an ambulance.
