Black lives matter movement. The supervisors who coauthored these resolutions, they along with leaders from organizations like the naacp, they just discussed the need for this kind of change. They condemned Racial Injustice during this News Conference thats taking place here outside the county building in san jose. The supervisors believe that the recent George Floyd Protests have opened the communitys eyes to this kind of systemic racism that is clearly still a problem in this country. And that incidentally a disproportionate number of minorities are impacted by covid19. The resolution calls for a number of things. It wants the county to reaffirm its support for minority communities who have been disenfranchised, wants to better educate the public on how to address and dismantle racism, and calls for a review of county ordinances, hiring practices, and workplace policies equity lens. Despite the progress of black americans and other minorities, racial bigotry is hanging over this nation and this county. Hashtag 45, the administration should not come as no surprise that so much rate is in our community. And the negative display of racism. We are defined by the battles we dare fight. The towns before us is to keep hope alive. Despite our enemies and the magnitude of barriers. The supervisor is also proposing making juneteenth a county holiday starting june 19th of next year. Additionally tomorrow the board will consider a proposal to urge the Sheriffs Office to review its use of force policies and adapt reforms known as the it aint wait. Bob, thank you. This is where the conference was supposed to take place. And its really sad to see, you can see the doors here at the Convention Center shut. You can hardly see anyone Walking Around and nearby hotels are quiet. So its quite a sad sight. But the Worldwide Developers conference was expected to draw about 6,000 people here. Because of covid19 that event was canceled so this week apple enthusiasts will go to the Virtual Conference and see videos of engineers instead of attending in person. Presenting the conference in this way allows us to be more inclusive than ever. Perhaps this will inspire the next generation of developers. So even though we cant be together in person, in some ways we are going to be more together than ever. Reporter apple is presenting new experiences right now online such as picture in picture which allows you to watch a video on your iphone while getting other work done. Me meantime, the Convention Center are having to cope with the challenge of cancelations due to covid19. So along with all the excitement with the conference kickoff today, there is still some uncertainty just last week apple announcing that it would have to close some Stores Across the country including in the states of florida and arizona. Here in the bay area this morning, Health Officials are keeping an eye on illnesses at a marin county facility. The Marin Sanitary Service process, trash and recycling. But this morning it is the source of 43 confirmed covid19 cases. This is all according to the marin independent journal. The publication is reporting all 288 employees were tested after an initial case on june 8th. And several workers tested positive just days after. There are nearly 4,000 cases in the state at hospitals reported on s thats the highest total since april 1st. And theres a 22 increase. California also reporting more than 1,000 confirmed covid19 patients in intensive care. Well, the San Jose Sharks and Santa Clara County are teaming ut to get more people tested for the coronavirus. This week the county is opening a new walkup testing site at the s. A. P. Center. This runs tuesday and runs through saturday. No appointment is needed. This week Santa Clara County is reopening more of its courtroom services. Those phase reopenings started last week with criminal and family justice cases. This week starting today, misdemeanor and Child Support hearings resume. And then next week the courts will add civil and traffic hearings to operating under major Health Related restrictions only allowing people required to be in court to go inside. Well, summers settling into the bay area, this time were looking at your micro climate weather forecast. And you can see right there a very cloudy day, a foggy day indeed there in San Francisco, which is probably keeping those temperatures cool there. But its going to be really hot in some other parts of the bay area. Kari, your red hot dress meaning those red hot temperatures. Those are micro climates in full effect. Its cloudy and drizzling at the Golden Gate Bridge. And then as you head inland, temperatures are really warm as we are seeing a lot of sunshine. Heres a live look outside in walnut creek. And this will be one of those spots in the east bay that will reach into the 90s. Lets look at our temperature trend. We are mostly going to stay in the 80s. So well briefly hit 90 degrees today. But i think we will see some hotter weather in our forecast if youre making plans to head out for lunch, maybe just grab that sandwich and head back inside, especially in the east bay as we are going to see these temperatures warming up quite a bit. We do see that there will be a heat advisory in effect for parts of the inland north bay from Solano County up to lake and mendocino counties. And these interior areas well also have a high fire danger as these temperatures start to ramp up as we go throughout this week. Looking at all of our micro climates we have a spread from 60s to 101 degrees. So well talk more about this and the micro climate forecast. Its coming up in a few minutes. Developing for you now, we are still trying to find out about the 19yearold man who died after an officerinvolved shooting in milpitas. This happened yesterday on north temple drive. This is near cardoza park. Police say they were responding to reports of a stabbing. Once they arrived they say that a man was holding a knife. Police tell us that that man eventually charged at one of those officers. Thats when he was shot. He was taken to the hospital, later dying. The victim of the initial stabbing call was treated at the hospital and released. Were going to stay on top of this story and bring you those updates as we get them. The president this morning tweeting that millions of fake mailin ballots will be cast in november. Now, scott, its pretty clear the president does not like the mailin voting. Well, except when he does it because the president himself is also a mailin voter himself. President trump has said out loud that mailin ballots are a disadvantage to republicans. As a general rule of thumb in american politics, when more people vote, the democrats tend to win. Its just a rule of thumb. Heres the tweet. Rigged 2020 election. Millions of mailin ballots will be printed by Foreign Countries and others. Itll be the scandal of our times. Now, our intelligence agencies say russia interfered with the 2016 election. But President Trump has said he believes Vladimir Putins denials on that. And keep in mind when there was foreign interference, it was to help the trump campaign. I think you have to factor this in as well. This is the most recent nationwide polling showing joe biden well ahead of the president. An earlier fox news poll showed the same thing. We do not elect a president with one nationwide vote. So polls like that can be a bit misleading. Now, there are a lot of reasons that it would be near impossible to have millions of fake ballots. First of all, every county and city has a different ballot. And you all of them. That would be one of the biggest problems. The second one, marcus, would be that youd have to know who is registered to vote. Then make sure that they dont vote so there are not two ballots coming into the election headquarters. Now, this is less than two weeks after wallace, who is nascars only black driver, successfully encouraged the ban of the Confederate Flag in nascar facilities. We have more news for you from sam brock. Reporter a disturbing discovery, a noose found in the garage stall of Bubba Wallace at the talladega super speedway on sunday. Less than two weeks after wallace successfully convinced the stock car racing series to ban the Confederate Flag at its tracks and facilities. Wallace said todays despicable act of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go. Nascar ading, in part, we are a and outraged and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act. Weve launched an immediate investigation and will do everything we can to identify the person responsible and eliminate them from the sport. Well, new at 11 00 for you, delta is the First Airline to open flights between the u. S. And china. This is since the start of the pandemic. Flights were stopped in february. And starting on thursday delta will have to have a reconnecting flight from seattle to shanghai. New safety protocols are in place. Passengers must wear those face coverings during the flight. Plus, middle seats, they will be blocked off to keep passengers spread apart. The mayor of nevada city is ignoring Governor Newsoms new statewide mask order. On facebook she posted that theres no law ordering you to wear a mask and that the governor does not have the power to make that order. Well, Governor Newsom is teaming up with other former governors to get the word out about those masks. Hey, maybe you didnt vote for me. News flash, i voted for gray davis. But no matter who you voted for or if you didnt vote at all, it doesnt change that californians look out for each other. Look, nobody wants to wear these things. Now, the governor does have the power to order masks to be worn in public. Well, Governor Newsoms budget deal is making major cuts to close the gap in the states 54 billion shortfall. Newsom and the largest state Workers Union agree to cut their paychecks. So that deal includes a 9 pay cut equaling two furloughed days every month for two years. And any raises are now delayed for two years. Heres what a political analyst had to say. A relatively quick way to save money, much quicker than to try and pursue layoffs which can take a very long time to achieve. The budget deal goes into effect july 1st. Well, take a look at this new video. This is cal fire crews rescuing someone stranded in the American River in auburn. This happened yesterday when a swimmer became unable to make it back to the shore because of those rising water levels. You can see right there responders there extending that rope, brought that person back to safety. This was just one of several rescues made over the weekend. I know a lot of people wanted to get out over the weekend because it was just so nice. But this week were still going to see some nice temperatures in some spots. But certainly some of those temperatures up in the high 80s and even 90s . Yeah. So its one of those days where if youre driving around the bay area, you need a jacket, shorts, flipflops, tennis shoes. You just need to be prepared for all kinds of weather because we will have a wide range in temperatures. And this is one of the spots thats going to be heating up today. As we take a live look outside in dublin, now we look at San Francisco. We can see that fog right over the Golden Gate Bridge and along the coast line. Its going to stay there all day long. Its not going to clear up. And so thats going to provide a little bit of that cooling that we are going to see along the coast line and in San Francisco. So look at half moon bay. Right now its 59 degrees. But then as you make inland, you are seeing some low 70s inhat we do have a wide range in temperatures. As we get a look at all of our micro climates, gilroy will reach up to 88 degrees. Well see a high of 86 in milpitas. For the east bay, were reaching into the low 90s. Up to 93 in concord as well as antioch. And 78 degrees in hayward. As we head over toward the coast, we are going to stay in the low 60s here in half moon bay. While palo alto reaches into the mid80s. We head to San Francisco, upper 60s for the Marina District and the north bay reaching the low 90s. And, napa, while ukiah will see a high of 101 degrees today. So heres whats happening. We have this fog and cool air right along the coast. But as that air moves inland, the winds are weak, it doesnt rise up and over the mountains. As it does move over parts of the bay area as it descends down those hills, it dries out and it warms up. So we are going to see still some breezy winds. But that ocean breeze is not Strong Enough to make it over the hills and provide the rest of the bay area with some cooling. And this is the same weather pattern we are going to see all throughout the week as High Pressure stays in control, its going to just park right over us and not move. So it keeps it hot. But then as we go into the weekend, it finally moves out of the way and provides the storm system just to our north to allow some breezy and cooler temperatures to start to move in. But that doesnt happen until sunday. So heres a look at our sevenday forecast. We are going to see highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Even reaching into the mid90s by the end of the week. On sunday it still comes down just a little bit, but were above normal here. Its going to be very dry and at times breezy throughout the weekend. But San Francisco once again keeps that natural airconditioning. And we are going to stay much cooler here and along the coast line. Now the warm yelest day will be friday as we reach into the upper 70s. But all throughout the week its going to be very nice to be along the coast line, marcus. Looks nice too.
