Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said that the government, society, cinema and media in India have played a commendable role with courage, commitment and caution during the coronavirus pandemic.
In his address at the International Coronavirus Short Film Festival at the NDMC Convention Centre, he said that short films played a crucial role in making the people aware of challenges of the corona pandemic.

When over 2,800 film entries from 108 countries based on a single theme Cure, Safety Measures and Life during the COVID-19 are received for a film festival, it is a record of sorts. That is why Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Environment, Forest & Climate Change Prakash Javadekar made a note of this and suggested that the organiser, Indian Infotainment Media Corporation (IIMC), send this feat to the Limca Book of Records.
Speaking at the inauguration of the first virtual International Corona Virus Short Film Festival at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi, the Minister said, “The lockdown period witnessed a revolution in communication with people exploring their creative side while sitting at home. More than 2,800 films from 108 countries are participating in the festival and are based on cure, safety measure and lives during the pandemic.

New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS): Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Monday that the Coronavirus crisis is now on its way out and soon vaccines would be available in India too. He was speaking at the International Coronavirus Short Film Festival.
He took the opportunity to caution people against letting the guard down before antibodies are created and second dose of the vaccine administered.
Javadekar said that the pandemic has caused major upsets in countries across the globe. However, he noted, that India has been able to handle the crisis well under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, who, he said, recognised the crisis early.
