The quake hit on july 4th. One day later a 7. 1. First the positive news. There have been no deaths. Only minor injuries reported. There is considerable concern because aftershocks continue to rattle the region. We have the update. Reporter when thursdays quake hit, the red cross said several dozen people came to the shelter they set up. But when fridays 7. 1 hit, about 150 people came to the shelter. Many of them are choosing to sleep outside because of the continuing after shocks. During the briefing today, city Officials Say they are making Good Progress in inspecting a lot of the damage across ridge crest. But their big concern is they just dont know when the Regional Hospital is going to fully reopen. Meanwhile, there is lots of people in ridge crest trying to get back to normal. They went door to door around 2 00 this morning asking neighbors if they have seen or heard anything and asking them for their surveillance video. A group of people ages 18 to 35 had been staying at the home since before the 4th of july and had a big party with more than 50 people last talked with one lived in this neighborhood for years. He said that he even went for a walk around 10 00 last night, and he felt like it really could have been a close call. He could have been at the wrong place at the wrong time.
