Detectives on Sunday night were questioning the 35-year-old partner of Epping mother of one Ju Zhang who disappeared almost a week ago.
But police are yet to locate Ms Zhang, 33, who was last seen at her home on Winchester Avenue, Epping, about 5.30pm on Monday, February 1.
Police say Ju Zhangâs disappearance is extremely out of character.
She was reported missing the following evening, February 2.
Police said it was out of character for Ms Zhang, also known as Kelly, to leave her eight-year-old son.
Victoria Police missing persons squad detectives arrested the man in Doncaster on Sunday afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said the man is âassisting police with their enquiriesâ.
