Slain Akwa Ibom job-seeker emerges top performer in her graduating class
The slain woman would have possibly been employed as a lecturer after her mandatory NYSC programme, according to a university official.
Iniubong Umoren, the Akwa Ibom job-seeker who was raped and killeda few days ago by a man who had lured her with a fake job interview, has emerged as a top performer in her graduating class in the Department of Philosophy, University of Uyo, Uyo.
Miss Umoren, 26, is seventh among the top graduating students in the 2018/2019 class, with a GPA of 4.12, according to the final result released by the University of Uyo.

The wife of the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr Martha Emmanuel, on Wednesday led the women of the state in a protest against the murder of the 26-years old Iniubong Umoren.
Umoren, a graduate of philosophy from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, was abducted, sexually assaulted and later killed by persons led by one Uduak Akpan under the pretext of finding her a job.
The women all dressed in black attire converged around 8am and walked slowly down to the Government House.
While addressing the protesters, Emmanuel said, “Let me reiterate the position of the Akwa Ibom State Government and assure you that there will be justice not only for Iniobong Umoren but for all victims of gender-base violence in Akwa Ibom State.”

Following the brutal rape and killing of Akwa Ibom job-seeker, Iniobong Umoren, youths from Nnung Ikono Obio in the Oruan Local Government Area, on Tuesday, stormed the family house of Uduak Akpan, the prime suspect in the murder and vandalized it.
The Punch reports that the youths took the action after setting ablaze the security post of the one-storey building, where the suspect and his parents live.
The youth carted away all the properties in the building and took the father of the suspected killer to the police.
“They broke the windows and the glass doors with pebbles and sticks, and carted away everything in the building,” a source told the publication.
