It was gathered that the meeting was ostensibly necessitated by the raping and killing of a University of Benin student, Uwaila Vera Omozuwa, who was attacked in a church in Benin City, Edo State capital, and consequently died on May 27, 2020.

The media space have been inundated with the killing of late Miss Umoren by Uduak Akpan, 20, who allegedly lured her to his house in the guise of offering her a job.
The Police in the state announced in a press statement on Sunday that it had arrested the suspected murderer.
Many Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora as well as different organised bodies have risen in condemnation of the act and demanded the prosecution of the perpetrators.
The Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong in a statement issued on Monday in Uyo said the governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel was saddened by the news of the incident saying the ‘most disturbing was the age of the persons involved.’

The gruesome murder of Iniobong Umoren, a job seeker in Akwa Ibom State is generating anguish on social media, as details of her death continue to emerge
A suspect, Uduak Frank Akpan, 20 years old has been arrested for the crime and according to the police, Akpan lured the suspect to a house under the guise of providing the victim a job after she answered an advert on Twitter.
While the police have exhumed the victim’s body for an autopsy, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Odiko Macdon, said the suspect confessed to the crime.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has promised that the government will ensure the killer of Miss Iniubong Umoren does not go unpunished.
He made the promise on Monday when he led some members of the State Executive Council on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
Umoren was the lady kidnapped, raped, and murdered by a young man who had promised her employment.
A suspect identified as Uduak Frank Akpan has since been arrested by the police in connection with the killing.
Governor Emmanuel, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, lamented that the whole state was saddened by the gruesome murder of the young jobseeker.
