Researchers at New York University (NYU) Langone Health have found that Covid-19 can trigger an immune response in the fatty deposits lining the blood vessels of the heart, leading to disrupted blood flow and worsening pre-existing heart conditions.
Aerobic exercise, specifically cycling, shows promise in reducing inflammation and boosting immune responses in the colonic tissue of Lynch syndrome patients, a group at high risk for colorectal cancer. The study suggests that regular exercise may offer a preventive approach for this patient population, though further randomized trials are needed.
