Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who along with other AAP leaders, MLAs and volunteers observed a day-long fast in support of the protesting farmers, said that the new farm laws will lead to immense inflation and will only favour a few capitalists. “I appeal to parties to stop playing dirty politics over farmers’ issue. These laws are anti-farmer and anti-aam aadmi and are aimed to benefit a few capitalists. These laws will lead to immense inflation through hoarding. These legislations gives license to inflate,” Kejriwal said. “Don’t think you are doing a favour by supporting farmers. Farmers are doing a favour by protesting against these laws.”

Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the central government was ready to discuss the three contentious farm laws clause by clause with the protesting farmers. We (central government) are ready to discuss clause by clause with farmers. We have sent our written proposal to farmers and we are waiting for their response for the next round of talks. These three bills are for the welfare of the farmers, India Today quoted Tomar as saying.

New Delhi, Dec 14 : Even as farmers went on a day-long hunger strike to press for repeal of the three farm laws, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar discussed their demands and related issues for the second consecutive day here on Monday.
As the farmers agitation continued for the 19th day, both Ministers discussed the ways to resolve their demands to end the protest as soon as possible, since it is impacting the supply chains to the city and other sectors.
