The residents pointed out the repercussions of this stagnant project has been felt throughout the community, impacting residents’ health, hindering daily activities, and severing vital connections for transport. The project was initiated before the elections, with the aim of mitigating flooding and improving drainage in the area. However, the work was left unfinished.
They found many of the CCTV cameras defunct. They said the BBMP authorities installed 10 CCTV cameras in 2019 at an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh but majority of them are now dysfunctional. They wondered whether the CCTV cameras installed in 2019 would be replaced or repaired.
Bad road conditions in the 11th cross road in Chinnapanahalli have not been rectified for several years, despite repeated appeals to the BBMP and local political leaders. The 2,500+ residents continue to receive only empty promises without any tangible actions.
Adding to the woes, the road faced digging in 2022 for UGD pipes and small chambers, but restoration efforts were not carried out. Cable operators and GAIL also contributed to the road’s deterioration by digging without proper tarring.
