A PIL has been filed in the Kerala High Court by Advocate P V Jeevesh, challenging the authority of Parliament to name legislations in languages other than English. The plea argues that titles in Hindi and Sanskrit create confusion and violate constitutional mandates, particularly affecting the southern legal fraternity.
The petitioner, advocate PV Jeevesh, said that while the Centre gave Hindi and Sanskrit titles to those important legislations, the majority of the legal fraternity in South India is not conversant with the two languages.
