The home ministry has recommended the immediate suspension of the Free Movement Regime between India and Myanmar that allows tribes along the border to travel up to 16 km inside the other country without a visa.
In a press release issued on February 6, the MEA said that due to the escalating violence, all Indians are advised to leave the turbulence-hit state immediately.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted the current challenges, citing disruptions in the telecommunication network and a severe scarcity of essential commodities in the area.
