me realize, if the white house, even if they were to call tomorrow. this is a family that does not seek revenge. they deserve to know at least somebody is thinking about them on the federal level. i am actually quite shocked that no one in the federal government has reached out. they have made choices before and prioritized their political decision making to reach out on other murders that have happened that did not involve a federal policy even. this does involve a federal policy that resulted in the breakdown between the federal and the local government that is running roughshod on the immigration standpoint. the least the white house could do was to answer your questions. but the right thing to do would be for them to place one phone call to this family. just one. how could they not? as somebody who worked in the white house. it is not like this case has not been national news. that has to be a conscious decision does it not? either a willful disregard for it or it is a decision
this bill in the senate solves the problem, they are misrepresenting the truth. it makes things worse economically and makes things worse from an immigration standpoint. jon: keeping track of this argument, carl cameron. hi, jon. today s rally, d.c. jobs, was sponsored by the black american leadership alliance and they are very much opposed to the senate s gang of eight bipartisan group and urging the house to go forward with a much stricter piece of reform that they say would not threaten, particularly low income african-american jobs. this is an argument made by black leaders that the i mean grigs reform bill as it s passed in the senate would take away jobs from low income, particularly black americans. there were a number of speakers there. most of them very conservative tea party type. jeff session has led the fight in the senate against the past senate immigration bill. he put it in the context of jobs pretty sharply.
aggressively address that, neither this administration nor the bush administration even gave any serious attempt at that. and, frankly, i would appreciate seeing that the attempt to make it easier and smoother for people to play by the rules at the same time as he lays out policies for how he intends to police the border and make the nation more secure from an immigration standpoint. i d like to see those two go hand in hand and most republicans would. would thing a lot of people focus on some of the tough rhetoric that comes out of republicans, myself included, focusing on the rule of law, but at the same time, a lot of people like me also want to encourage legal immigration and we want to have our system work for those who are playing by the rules. i think it s important for mitt romney to make sure that those things go hand in hand. attorney general ken cuccinelli, thank you for joining the program. we ll be talking about immigration much more in the coming months, and we hope t
