The police authorities have arrested a man with a human head and hands concealed in a bag in a commercial bus travelling from Ajase-Ipo to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the suspect, Kehinde Moses, confessed to having killed the victim, Mohammed, for ritual purposes in Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
He said the suspect was apprehended on Monday after police operatives stopped the vehicle for search on the road, adding that Moses’ accomplice escaped by taking to his heels.
“In the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed that he and his fleeing partner killed the victim named Mohammed in Ajase-Ipo for ritual purposes,” the police spokesman said via a statement issued on Tuesday.

THE Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has set aside N1bn in its 2021 budget as consultancy fees to be paid to experts that would supervise its roads and bridge projects.
The ministry also proposed to spend N1bn this year to provide road signage and other road furniture on federal highways across the country.
Apart from these, the ministry set aside N15m for the development of highways design software while N250m was voted for the Recovery of Right of Way on Federal Road nationwide this year.
It proposed to spend N2.5bn as intervention fund to provide internal roads in the tertiary institutions across Nigeria this year.

No fewer than six people have been killed and houses razed by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in a community near Chibok town in Borno State.
The attack was reported to have been carried at about 5pm on the eve of Christmas.
The insurgents were said to have stormed the village in a bid to raid Piyemi, a community 10 kilometres from Chibok town in the southern part of the state.
It was learnt that the residents were forced to flee the town into the mountainous areas as the invading terrorists looted food items and burnt houses amidst sporadic shootings.
