Drive-through and walk-in COVID-19 immunization clinics are to operate in communities across Saskatchewan on Wednesday and throughout the week.
The clinics are open to everyone 37 and over or frontline workers such as teachers, firefighters, corrections officers and border security officials. Those individuals must present a letter of eligibility.
The drive-through at Regina’s Evraz Place is to be open Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., each day.
There also are walk-in clinics in the Queen City set for Friday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., South Leisure Centre) and Saturday (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre).
Photo by File Photo YTW Effective 8 a.m. on May 4, 2021, eligibility in the provincial age-based immunization program moves to age 37 and older, except for residents living in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District, where it moves to age 18 and older. This applies to all immunization clinics: booked appointments, drive-thru/walk-in, mobile, and pharmacy. Approximately 8,000 appointments will be added to the Patient Booking System, effective 8 a.m., May 4, 2021, for booked appointments at SHA clinics, in addition to pharmacy appointments, and drive-thru and walk-in clinics. Pharmacy immunization details can be found at www.saskatchewan.ca/covid19-pharmacies. article continues below Reminder to residents that clinic availability is based on vaccine availability, and demand for appointments outweighs the current supply. When age eligibility opens to a younger group appointments fill up fast, particularly in urban centres like Regina and Saskatoon

The drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Regina’s Evraz Place was up and running again Monday.
The clinic, which closed April 16 after exhausting its supply of vaccine, reopened Sunday. On Monday, it continued serving people aged 40 and over and prioritized frontline workers who had letters proving they were eligible to receive their shots.
The drive-through is working on a first-come, first-served basis.
In a post on its website Sunday, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said the drive-through was to be open Sunday and then again on Friday and Saturday. It’s unclear how the decision to open Monday will affect next weekend’s schedule.

The Melville Millionaires Junior A Hockey Club did not submit a plan to use the ice at the Horizon Credit Union Centre by the City Council imposed deadline of February 22nd. Director of Community Works Chris Bruce says this is mainly due to the current public health restrictions, but did say he remains in talks with the hockey team about what could be done should the SJHL season. Bruce says the arena will continue to operate as normal with the ice scheduled to come out around April 15th.
