Cox: It’s time to band together and play our part in protecting our Women and Girls Port of Spain… Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Senator the Honourable Donna Cox has called on all sectors of society to band together in protecting our nation’s women and girls from gender-based violence and abuse. This call to action was made by the Minister during her contributions to a motion raised by Independent Senator, Paul Richards to ‘Effectively Address the Rising Incidence of Violence Against Women and Girls.’ According to the Minister, “This motion is a call to action, to effectively address the rising incidence of violence against women and girls.  As a society we can always do more; we can always do better”.  The Minister launched her contributions stating “One case of violence against a woman is too many. We must never sit down and comfort ourselves with numbers.  We must assert that violence against any woman is violence against all of society.
