Minister Cox presents on Digital Transformation at XII Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean

th, 2021. The theme for Wednesday’s roundtable discussion was
Inclusive Digital Transformation as a Mechanism for Productivity, Inclusion and Resilience, and featured contributions from the esteemed Ministers of the Governments of Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Honduras and Argentina. Opening remarks were delivered by Luis Felipe López-Calva, UNDP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, whilst Victor Munaz, High Presidential Consular for Innovation and Digital Transformation of Colombia served as Moderator.
Beyond recovery - Minister Cox to lead roundtable discussion on Inclusive Digital transformation at XII Ministerial Forum for Development in LAC
Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Senator the Honourable Donna Cox will participate in discussions on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago, at the XII Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Forum, co-organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will be held virtually from January 12th - 14th, 2021 under the theme “Covid-19 Beyond Recovery- Towards a new social contract for LAC.”
Minister Cox will bring to the forefront, initiatives in keeping with the Roadmap for Trinidad and Tobago Post Covid-19 pandemic including the continued implementation of the National Social Mitigation Plan and other initiatives highlighted in her 2020-2021 Budget presentation. January 6, 2021, Port of Spain: The issue of abuse of older persons continues to be top priority for Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, Minister of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS). This she disclosed during a meeting with Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, held earlier today at the Ministry’s Head Office on St Vincent Street, Port of Spain. According to the Minister, “There is no excuse for the abuse of older persons, particularly at Homes for Older Persons; and the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services stands ready to defend and protect the lives of older persons in Trinidad and Tobago”.
Ministry of Social Development and Family Services meets with Representatives of the Supermarkets Association of Trinidad and Tobago
Port-of-Spain - Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, Minister of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) and members of her Executive met today with the President of the Supermarkets Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT), Mr. Rajiv Diptee, and the Vice President, Sunita Persad, at the Ministry’s Head Office on St Vincent Street, Port of Spain.
The discussion focused on strategies to deepen the collaboration between the Ministry and the Association, in an effort to mitigate any concerns with two of the Ministry’s most recent initiatives involving public interaction with supermarkets, grocers and merchants. These initiatives include temporary food cards distributed to Members of Parliament and the ongoing initiative to update existing food cards for recipients under the Food Support Programme.
Minister Cox leads High Level Meeting to discuss Street Dwelling
