The National Economic Security Alliance (NESA) is pleased to announce that the Inaugural Ceremony for the William H. Webster Profiles in Leadership Awards was
all unfolding at the same time that homeland security experts have been warning, for months, about an escalation in political violence. and this rhetoric is contributing to it. given all of that, luke, are there any republicans, and i mean republicans in power, in office, that can make a difference, who are watching what is happening out there, and finally getting worried enough about this rhetoric, to do something about it? well, you ve seen some calls from the less crazy wing of the party to tamp down the rhetoric. you know, you heard former vice president mike pence, to say, stop attacking the fbi, guys. and you heard, you know, the only fbi, former fbi agent in congress, he called on his fellow republicans to calm the rhetoric and stop attacking law enforcement. and it has reached a dangerous
unfolded since then. i think, days after that, there was a group of heavily armed men, including with assault rifles, who stayed outside an fbi office in phoenix. on august 11th, there was a man who tried to attack this fbi office in cincinnati, and ended up in a deadly shootout with law enforcement outside. on august 12th, a pennsylvania man was arrested after posting a series of violent threats against fbi and law enforcement, saying that people who deserve people who work there, pardon me, all deserve to die. and there s also, as you mentioned, really violent dangerous threats against the judge who signed that search warrant in the first place. so, we are seeing in many ways, when you talk to homeland security experts, national security experts, the same kind of mix of grievance and divine lands among the supporters. people say we were wrong, we are under siege. these are the people behind it. these are the people we need to go after. in many cases, they need to die. it s the same
