YOUNGSTOWN On Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, God listened to His Heavenly Choir and realized he needed a virtuous woman to fill a spot, so He searched the earth and found just that woman in Elder Jonetta Bonner, 64.
Elder Bonner was born Sept. 12, 1956, in Youngstown, a daughter of Nathaniel Dunn Jr. and Joann Boone, and was raised from birth by Nathanial Sr. and Elizabeth Dunn. She was a 1975 graduate of South High School and was a certified child care provider. Jonetta was a faithful woman of God. She was a dedicated member of the Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center, a member of its choir, praise team, Women of Grace and Excellence. She was also a former member of the “Jesus Celebration Singers,” and most recently became a member of S.O.S. (Seniors Offering Services). Jonetta loved to sing and would make up a song that could be enjoyed by her grandchildren. Elder Bonner had recently been elevated to missionary by the Church of God In Christ.

YOUNGSTOWN Lucy Mae Connor, 79, a mother, grandmother, sister and friend, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, and is now home with her Heavenly Father.
Lucy Mae Connor, affectionately known as “Cookie,” was born Dec. 5, 1941, in Youngstown, the daughter of John Clark and Thelma Fitzgerald. She attended East High School, and after high school, was employed at Southside Hospital for 13 years. She was also employed at The Hagstrom House and the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Her love for people led her to become a foster mom, also. One of her greatest gifts was her passionate concern for others. Lucy had a love for crocheting blankets, crossword puzzles and caring for the sick and less fortunate. She spent most of her available time doing such.
YOUNGSTOWN Ms. Leslie Beth Glover, 57, entered eternal rest Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.
Ms. Glover was born June 3, 1963, in Youngstown, a daughter of Roosevelt Sr. and Dessiree Townsend Glover.
She was a 1981 graduate of South High School and attended Lewis Weinberger School of Cosmetology. She worked as a mail carrier for 33 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2019.
A member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Leslie was a participant with the youth ushers and youth choir. She enjoyed fishing, bike riding, cooking, catering, entertaining, social card games, was an avid Denver Broncos fan, and loved spoiling her nieces and nephews and taking care of her fur baby, “Lil Mama.”

HUBBARD Mr. Lawrence Raines Jr., 66, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal peace Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at the Hospice NW Ohio in Toledo.
Mr. Raines was born Feb. 26, 1954, in Youngstown, a son of Lawrence Sr. and Anna Louise Simmons Raines. He was a 1972 graduate of East High School.
Lawrence was in the skilled trades program and a licensed electrician at General Motors Lordstown for 21 years, retiring in 2019. Prior to working at General Motors, he was employed with Sharon Steel. He was a member of Steel City Sportsman Club, where he held the position of treasurer and caretaker. He enjoyed yard work, chess, music, computers, technology, bowling, fixing cars, old Western movies, hunting, fishing and family gatherings.
