Bangabandhu Centre opened in South Africa

Bangladesh High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa has opened a “Bangabandhu Centre” recently as the government has taken various steps to brand Bangladesh positively through establishment of such centers across the world.
The Bangabandhu Centre was made based on a library having a rich collection of over 400 books including on life and achievements of Bangabandhu written both in Bangla and English, said the High Commission on Monday.
Bangladesh has so far opened Bangabandhu Corners in 68 Missions of 78 Missions abroad as the government says Bangladesh and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are inseparable.

New Delhi has conveyed it to Dhaka that Bangladesh remains one of the most important pillars of its foreign policy and the relations between the two countries will keep growing on all fronts.
“It’s (the relationship) as good as it was and it’ll only get better,” Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram K Doraiswami told reporters at the High Commission on Thursday afternoon after the virtual Summit between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
During the Summit, both sides exchanged views on the situation of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in their respective countries and expressed satisfaction at the manner in which sustained engagement between the two countries has been maintained during this ongoing crisis.

‘India respects Bangladesh for founding values’

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Doraiswami has said India respects Bangladesh for the values on which the country was founded. The respect that we (Indians) have for Bangladesh comes from these (values). It comes from what Bangladesh is to Bangladesh, he said. The Indian envoy also said that the ideals and values of the Liberation War are the foundation upon which the bilateral ties between India and Bangladesh are flourishing.
He was speaking at an intergenerational dialogue titled Liberation War and Its Values – Across the Ages , held at the High Commission on Tuesday. It was organised by the Indian high commission in association with Youth Opportunities.
