live from the bay area studios, this is kpix 5 this morning. right now, on kpix 5 and streaming on cbsn bay area , we are looking live from our exclusive salesforce tower camera as we look out east. and new mandatory evacuations overnight in the north bay. we have more on that in a bed. good morning, it is tuesday, september eighth. i am michelle griego. i am len keise. we are trusting gusty winds. let s get a check of the weather with meteorologist mary lee. wind gusts are up to 40 miles an hour in north bay mountains. critical fire weather conditions and we are watching the winds take that turn out of the north and northeast. it is very dry air with that onshore flow. red flag warnings are in effect for the north bay. until 8:00 on wednesday, we are looking at low relative humidity values for the north bay mountains from 5:00 until 11:00 because of the possibility of downed trees and power lines and wind gusts up to 15 miles an hour in the north bay mountains. it is a
hour in the higher elevations. we have a dry cold front pushing through, kicking up the winds. we have a red flag warning in effect now all the way until 8:00 on wednesday due to these a dry and gusty offshore winds. there is low relative humidity values for the north bay mountains and east bay hills and santa cruz mountains today into tomorrow morning and we have a wind advisory that will be in effect for the north bay mountains for today, at a possible chance of downed trees and power lines. it will be hot but not quite as hot as yesterday. we re looking at mid 80s in san francisco and low 90s in oakland and mid 90s in san jose and dealing with triple digit heat in concord. 103 for a high in concord and because of the extreme heat, still for inland locations, concord is opening up a cooling center at the concord senior center from 1:00 until 6:00, to give some relief to people, so go out there if you need some safety from these hot temperatures. it is from 1:00 until 6:00 i

it was him and i on the roof, i told him, it s not worth it. turn yourself in. why are you running? and i said that, and i was thinking to myself, i really hope this guy doesn t have a gun. reporter: it all started when a marin county sheriff s deputy spotted a domestic violence suspect this morning. the deputy followed the suspect, the suspect fled, ended up coming south on ridgway and caused all of this. reporter: one customer, the man on the bottom portion of your screen got penned by the suspect s car. the arianneo and others helped free him. he was pretty much okay once we got the car off of him. i m sure he s going to have some bruising, but nothing really broke his skin too bad. it s a miracle. you ve got to thank god that nobody s dead today, and really, the injuries were minor. reporter: and we re back here live. you re looking outside fred s cafe, this cafe had to close for the day, but we re told it will reopen tomorrow. they have identified the suspect
