Critical fire weather conditions and we are watching the winds take that turn out of the north and northeast. It is very dry air with that onshore flow. Red flag warnings are in effect for the north bay. Until 8 00 on wednesday, we are looking at low relative humidity values for the north bay mountains from 5 00 until 11 00 because of the possibility of downed trees and power lines and wind gusts up to 15 miles an hour in the north bay mountains. It is a big concern. Our temperatures are not as hot as yesterday but still warm to hot conditions across our region. We have some brake lights and there are slightly slower speeds. Once you are past that area, there are no delays but i am getting reports of a trouble spot near 680, not too far from the 780 connector. I will keep a close eye on that to see if it will turn out to be anything. There is a 20 minute drive time from 205 to 680. That is our slowest spot although the toll plaza looks good, with no delays out of the east bay into the city. I will look at the san mateo bridge in my next report. We have been talking about these mandatory evacuations that just went into effect last night at 10 00. It has been an awful night for a lot of folks in Sonoma County, around the bernville area. Santa rosa got word of a potential shower and the Fire Department says it has staffed up its stations to better prepare should another fire suddenly erupt. The concern now is we have the added winds. Several days of hot, dry temperatures, the winds are kicking up for a couple of days and with the low humidities, this is a concern. Many santa rosa residents we spoke to agreed that the psps is an inconvenience but they say it is one they are willing to deal with to protect their homes and community. Now to one firefighter in mendocino county. Theyre trying to get some containment near willits. They have scorched around 700 acres with no containment so far.
