And so i just want to say, new york city, youre in my thoughts all the time but especially today were losing a lot of lot of great people transit workers, sanitation workers, firefighters, police officers, people that are just doing their jobs and thats all theyre doing and i just want to let them know that they will not be forgotten and what theyre doing is an amazing job. Reopen. Wilson walker is live in petaluma where the longawaited reopening is off to a slow start tonight. Reporter thats exactly what i found, we are talking about book stores, Jewelry Stores, Clothing Stores, shoe stores, any number of businesses were eligible today to start opening their doors. I wandered around town for a while looking for folks who were excited to say, and we are open for business and i really didnt find much of that. I think a lot of us are still here in our shops to answer the phone and emails. Reporter as a Clothing Store owner, kathy could have opened her doors today, but she did not, and across town, plenty of eligible businesses appear to have made the same decision. Its hard to find exact information about what we are allowed to do and what we are not allowed to do so i have just kind of been laying low. We know that this disease includes an extra amount of sorrow, since loved ones cannot the at the bedside, and we continue to hold all of those suffering from this virus in our thoughts. Earlier this week, i laid out our path forward to a new normal , dependent upon testing, and i want to share some key updates about our work on that front. On testing first. North carolina has made great strides, but we have more work to do. We have conducted at least 73,000 tests, which is a long way from where we were a month ago. In fact, testing and our state has increased by 88 over the last two weeks, but we need testing to be more widespread, and we need to use it to give us a better indication of where we are in this fight. Today, we announced a partnership with three of our states medical universities, to use testing and tracing to help us determine how far the disease has spread in North Carolina. We will be addressing some of the needs of the Public Health services. Then at the next meeting we will have a presentation which will be an overall of Behavioural Health programs in the department. In addition, i would like to on behalf of the commission, welcome commissioner suzanne gerardo. She has been the chair of the San Francisco Families First five commission and the founder and trustee of the demerlac academy which is serving underserved children and families. You certainly bring a lot of credentials to the commission, and were very happy to have you. Would you like to say a few words . Yes.
